Bored and Decked Chevrolet 350 Stock Car Engine- The
block was bored to size minus .002 material left for honing. The
engine was then mock assembled to check the deck height. All pistons
brought up to TDC, and distance from deck checked. One bank required
.032 to accomplish 'zero deck,' the other bank required .036.
The block was then dissassembled, and these amounts were then
machined from the deck surfaces. The edges are duburred, head
bolt holes were countersunk and the threads chased with a tap
to allow for proper torque specs. The block will now be honed
to finished size.
